I’ve been criticized a lot in my career.
“DK’s too aggressive”
“DK’s an asshole”
“DK is cocky”
“DK is too flashy”
“DK over dresses”
“Did you see what car DK has?!”
“I can’t believe he drives that car!”
“DK is rude”
“DK’s expectations are too high”
“DK works too much!”
“DK knocks on doors and cold calls gross. I would never do that”
The list goes on and on.
I realized something along my journey.
You will never be criticized by someone doing more than you. You will only be criticized by someone doing less.
People who aren’t in the arena with you — building, risking, striving — often feel most entitled to criticize. Ignore the noise.
Take it as confirmation that you’re making waves. 🌊
And remember…if someone is criticizing you or talking shit about you, that says more about them then it does about you.
